It is not easy that I have lived to now. I had experienced every kind of suffering.
There are 27 knife scars and two bullet scars on my body. I have died many times. Every time I died, in that hazy state, this old man always came to save me and brought me back to life.

About 49th Lineage Holder Dechan Jueren.

Dechan Jueren

Also known as Master Yu Tianjian, Dechan Jueren has reached the highest possible rank in Buddhism, and is thought to be the reincarnation of a high spiritual leader in a 1,700-year-old tradition. He has been honoured by Buddhist leaders from other countries and was a keynote speaker at the UN Millennium Peace Conference.

In 2007 he became Special Advisor First Secretary to the World Council of Religious Leaders

In August 2008 Dechan Jueren became the new Lineage Holder of the Linji Chan School. Chan is a Chinese word meaning Zen.

Dechan Jueren, Master Yu, is a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine as well as author of a book about Hanmi Buddhism that has sold a million copies in China. He was born in 1951 in Chaoyang City, Manchuria, just in time to grow up in the oppressive early years of the Chinese Communist regime. Yu became, he says, "an excellent Communist." He had only six years of formal education in elementary school, and his youth was full of hardship, "a rough life."
